82 FOOTBALL ACADEMY
COACHING CLINIC 19-21 FEBRUARY
Players will be coached by the 82 Academy coaches Richard Johnston (former Socceroo) and Chris Acott. A number of Nelson coaches will also take part in the coaching sessions.
The aim of the clinic is to work with young Nelson players on technical ability, mental approach and physical wellbeing. The clinic also gives local players the opportunity:
* To trial for selection in the academy under14 squad going to Barcelona in late March to play in a major international tournament
* To be considered for an Academy Scholarship which involves children participating in intensive programs in Queenstown during school holidays
Clinic schedule of Events:
Children will need to turn up at midday on Friday 19 February for registration. Participants will be allocated into groups according to age in the first instance with the first session running until 3.30pm.
Saturday and Sunday will be 9am starts (prompt) until 12.15pm followed by a 45 minute lunch break. The clinic will recommence at 1pm finishing at 3pm. After 3pm will be the opportunity for parents to discuss with Academy staff re their children and the 82 Academy.
There will also be training sessions in the early evening for the Academy under 14 Spain Squad. A squad of 15 children will be taken to Barcelona in late March 2010 for the Mediterranean International Cup. The clinic will be used as a trial for this tournament, with presently 4 places left available for the tour.
