PLAYERS CODE OF CONDUCT
This Code of Conduct is designed to ensure a respectful, enjoyable, and fair environment for all players. By participating, you agree to uphold the following standards:
1. Respect and Sportsmanship
* Treat all players, officials, staff, and spectators with respect, regardless of race, gender, age, ability, religion, or background.
* Refrain from using offensive, abusive, or discriminatory language or behaviour.
* Show good sportsmanship, whether in victory or defeat.
2. Fair Play
* Compete honestly and follow the rules of the game or event.
* Avoid cheating, exploitation, or any actions that unfairly harm others.
* Accept decisions made by officials, referees, or moderators with grace.
3. Safety and Well-being
* Prioritize the physical and emotional safety of all participants.
* Avoid aggressive or reckless actions that could harm others.
* Report unsafe or harmful behaviour immediately to the appropriate authorities.
4. Integrity and Accountability
* Take responsibility for your actions, both in and out of the game.
* Be a positive role model for teammates and the community.
* Respect the property, equipment, and facilities provided.
5. Communication
* Use appropriate and constructive language in all forms of communication, including online forums, chat, and social media.
* Avoid harassment, trolling, or targeting other players.
* Seek to resolve conflicts calmly and respectfully.
6. Compliance
* Follow all organisational, league, or event rules, as well as any applicable laws or policies.
* Refrain from using prohibited substances, including drugs, alcohol, or performance-enhancing substances.
Consequences for Violations
Failure to adhere to this Code of Conduct may result in disciplinary actions, including but not limited to:
* Verbal or written warnings
* Temporary or permanent suspension from games, events, or leagues
* Fines, penalties, or expulsion from your local football body

COACHES CODE OF CONDUCT
Nelson Suburbs Football Club establishes guidelines to ensure coaches uphold the highest standards of professionalism, integrity, and respect for players, officials, parents, and the game itself. Our coaches support and respect the values and vision of Nelson Suburbs FC.
1. Player Development
* Prioritise the safety, well-being, and development of each player.
* Focus on teaching skills, tactics, and sportsmanship over winning at all costs.
* Provide equal opportunities for all players to participate and improve.
2. Respect for Players
* Treat all players with respect, regardless of their skill level, background, or behaviour.
* Avoid any form of physical, verbal, or emotional abuse.
* Encourage positive reinforcement to build confidence and self-esteem.
3. Role Modelling
* Exhibit exemplary behaviour, on and off the field.
* Avoid using profanity, abusive language, or engaging in unsportsmanlike conduct.
* Refrain from consuming alcohol, drugs, or tobacco during practices, games, or any team events.
4. Communication
* Maintain open, honest, and respectful communication with players, parents, and officials.
* Be approachable and receptive to feedback or concerns from players and parents.
5. Knowledge of the Game
* Strive for continuous improvement by learning and applying modern coaching techniques and tactics.
* Understand and abide by the rules and regulations of the game and relevant leagues.
6. Fair Play
* Promote and enforce fair play, both in training and competitive situations.
* Discourage unsportsmanlike behaviour, cheating, or disrespect toward opponents or officials.
7. Health and Safety
* Ensure players are physically and mentally prepared for participation.
* Avoid overtraining and recognize the signs of injury, fatigue, or distress.
* Promote hydration, proper nutrition, and overall healthy habits.
8. Interaction with Officials
* Show respect for referees and officials, even in disagreement.
* Refrain from questioning or criticising officiating decisions publicly.
* Encourage players and parents to respect officials.
9. Parental Involvement
* Work collaboratively with parents to support the player's development.
* Set clear expectations regarding parental behaviour at games and practices.
* Address concerns in a respectful and constructive manner.
10. Commitment to Integrity
* Avoid conflicts of interest, favouritism, or bias in team selection and management.

SUPPORTERS CODE OF CONDUCT
Our football club values respect, sportsmanship, and community. To ensure a positive and supportive environment for all, we ask families to adhere to the following Code of Conduct:
General Guidelines
1. Respect for All: Treat players, coaches, referees, and fellow spectators with kindness and respect, regardless of team affiliation.
2. Positive Support: Encourage all players with positive reinforcement. Avoid criticizing players, coaches, or referees during practices, games, or in any public setting.

Game Day Expectations
4. Sideline Conduct: Refrain from coaching or giving instructions from the sidelines. Leave the coaching to the team staff.
5. Respect Officials: Accept referees' decisions without argument or complaint. Remember that mistakes are part of the game.
6. Cheer Responsibly: Applaud good plays by both teams and avoid negative comments or gestures.
Communication
7. Constructive Feedback: Address concerns with coaches or club officials privately and respectfully, avoiding confrontation during games or practices.

Consequences for Violations
The club reserves the right to address any violations of this Code of Conduct. Consequences may include:
